Evergreen Community Church is led by Rev. Steve Kang, who has a desire to work closely with the members to build a biblically functioning community.
Rev. Kang graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In 1987, he graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) with a Masters in Divinity. In 2002, he completed his doctoral degree in Ministry from TEDS. . He served as a pastor of the English Ministry at Hebron Presbyterian Church from1988 to 1997.
While attending University of Illinois, he co-founded and was one of the original members of Alpha Omega gospel band. He served as the director of Chicago High School OIL for 12 years. He is married to Liz and has a wonderful daughter, Stephanie. His passion is to see irreligious people become fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Jae Lim has been at Evergreen since 2000. He now serves as the Children's Ministry Director and assists Pastor Kang administratively.
Jae graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Physics and studied Educational Ministries at Trinity and has served in various capacities at Korean churches in the Chicagoland area, usually as a youth or children's pastor. He lives in Chicago with his wife Rea and dogs, Mochi and Nori (Mochi is the white one.)
